Expect additions to Mac Mini

Intrepid Mac-Hacker extraordinaire Leo Bodnar, who was the first to show the world how to over-clock a Mac mini, has written about some interesting things he's found exploring the innards of a Mac mini. Or more to the point, things he didn't find.

"I have noticed a missing unpopulated connector on a vertical CD/HDD interconnect board. There are also a few components that were left out during assembly. There is a surprisingly big (by mini standards) empty space around that area inside the mini case.

Connector has a full Firewire bus and extra control signals on it. What could it be? Integrated iPod dock at the top of Mac mini case? Interface to some other external device? Missing internal module?

And most of all, has it been abandoned at the last minute or still being developed? Or is it waiting for its device to become ready? "

Who cares? Lol...my view is, you can't game on the bugger, so what good is it? Sure, it'll do sound editing and video stuff, but for any of that, we've got Adobe to hook us up

Mini PC based robot.

Japanese students have created this robot from a Kuro-Box mini PC. It is autonomous and programmable and will patrol your house.

I think I could count "us" on two hands I don't understand what all the hostility is over Windows. Yes, it's overpriced, comes bundled with spyware (free of charge I'm sure), and Solitaire still hasn't gotten a new deck since 3.1. However, I can build any pc I want. Anyone can. Can't do that with Mac though. Also, out of my $5,000+ worth of programs, quite a few of which I use for my work, none of them will work with Mac. On top of that, all the games made are made for pc, as are most quality programs...

And really, I'm of the opinion that if more people actually used Redhat and other alternatives, we'd see more viruses on it. The fact is, it's not worth a virus writer's time to write something for Linux. On one hand, we can crash millions of windows systems, and on the other, a few thousand linux systems. I'd go with the former

Enough ranting though Honestly, I've tried using those systems, I'm just too indoctrinated in Gatesian operating systems to use anything else (though I did try redhat and it was fun to mess with).
