Consequently we have disabled these servers. We do not allow modifications to our server code for a variety of reasons including cheating.

We are in the process of creating server code that allows for users to host games greater than the current 16 player limit. This server code will be available shortly as part of the forthcoming free update for Delta Force - Black Hawk Down.

its not just the 50 player servers all the 32 player servers are gone to

isn`t it true that devilsclaw`s masteraddon is out since the demo?
isn`t it true that since 6 month 50 player server are hosted and people are used to?
isn´t it true that other companies have since 2 years servers for 32 players and more?
isn`t it true that without the good work of some "freewill" programmers we would have really jack nothing compared to other games? (maybe you are no mapmaker or modder or host..but these people know what i mean)
isn`t it true that rewriting the Novaworld lobby to 16 instead of 32 players has nothing to do with cheats? This is only an lame excuse for the very smart brains....

i accept their decision if they have NW-hardware problems...or NW-tracking problems...but they are not telling the true issue behind!

If so ask stevieB I have made maps since DF2 through to BHD.

I also created a terrain Normandy Beach Style for DFLW and TFD.(That resembled the one they added in BHD exept I made it as an Island)

I ran SERVER Salamanders War on DF2,DFLW,TFD and BHD.

yes, i did not mean you personally...i am only talking to that people that maybe get trapped by them and the lame reason "cheats"

what does multiplayer slots and a login browser has to do with cheats...simply nothing...so i see this excuse only as a lie...they did against the needs of the DF community without any pre-warning...and before the patch is out...

I would not say anything if they say...hey
now we provide you 32 player support that is stabile...we don`t want have instable 50 player servers...

i would say...its ok...so 50% of my freinds could play together...but now..

if all my freinds want play the game we must loan 7 new servers and playing divided...

Due to the recent event (not listing PUBLIC servers over 16 man) I suggest all dedicated DF squads who had servers over 16 people take down your squad servers in an effort to show NL that we, the customers are not happy with their continuing modifications which are now causing hardships to all players. As for NL wanting to eradicate “modifications” so to stop cheats, how does decreasing the server allowance speak to this? These are public servers not under Nova’s control. If control by NL is the issue, then why even list public servers to begin with? It’s time the DF community take a stand against these onerous standards that we are being forced to swallow.

For six years we all have used various name editors, so why continue to allow that and hit the server allowance now? The game used to be fun and for those teams that boast a roster over 16 people, wanting to get all the players in the same server for whatever reason, how can you, as a squad, have much fun? What about wanting to host a server where the majority of the squad wants get in and take on a team of players (more than 8 on the opposing side)?

I for one will no longer support NL given the current state of affairs. Until NL actually begins to listen to their customers, I will not be buying nor playing any NL game. I encourage every squad to thoughtfully consider NL recent actions and decide if showing continued support via silence is worth it. Shall we continue to acquiesce with these tyrannical decisions handed down to us by an obviously deaf company who seems not to be interested in their customers?

I'm sure you guys have noticed that we are down to 16 player servers as Ender mentioned. While Nova hold a string above our heads with a dog bone at the end.

We see no good reason for making this change with out warning when a patch is coming out so soon. Other then Nova has Umpa Lumpas running their PR department.

I'm not even going to try to make a point here, other then it is time to get informed and let Nova hear what we have to say for once. By god, we are the ones paying the bills for them!

Be careful about pinning any hopes to JO or Team Sabre. "I bet they fix it next game." See the problem with that? It's broke now, and still no fix, only more problems. Buying another NL game WILL NOT help the consumer in this instance. NL would like us to think so, as I've noticed hints to their upcoming games as having addressed these issues. Remember the problem in DF2 and LW that the majority wanted fixed? Was TFD any better? NOPE! BHD is a cool game, but once you realize that not only are you stuck with it's shortcomings, but that you also need to be prepared to relinquish any hopes of having the same opportunities to improve your "gaming experience" on your own (with mods).

I think it's fair to say that the game is decidedly worse now than it was when it was released. Seems more like a police environment than ever before. "CHeat this, HAck that. Glitcher. I'm callin Nova." etc. Not only has there been a rise in these self proclaimed monitoring sites (ACC and ACG), but it appears as though Nova too has decided to begin limiting what it's consumers can do, and over time will effectively eradicate any dissention because: 1) Informed customers no longer care about NL and it's products, 2) Too burdensome to play a game that has so many restrictions and regulations, and 3) the expectations of the new NL players will be markedly less since they are able to relate to NL to only a miniscule degree. The new players will not know what fun it was to play a 50 or 32 man game.

I view the new NL forums as a vehicle to silence the masses. Too late in coming. How long has the DF community (which NL's only part was making the game) hoisted the standard for its games? How affective have we been at promoting their product? How long have we supported them? How long have we organized events and matches? What has Nova done? Take, take, take! Am I wrong? I can imagine that very soon, they newly dooped will discover that along with their nice, shinny toy, they have a forum board of thier very own just for the game. New idea? hmmm Once people begin to voice their grievences in an attempty to TRY and make the game better, I'm sure well begin seeing posts disappear, invalidating our statements by dismissing us as nuisences. Then, NL will be the place to be, since thier forums are the official site for the NEW DF players. So much for the DF community. Hey Nova, ever consider forming your own squads? Sponsoring your own tourneys? Thought not.

So, as I began, don't pin any hopes on NL doing anything with the new games except taking your money. Don't get me wrong, I really used to enjoy NL games, and perhaps wouldn't mind a SMALL PFP fee, or even an annual subscription like $50, however not under the current circumstances.

Incidently, who finds these people at Nova? Good programers to be sure, but their PR dept. and planning folks need some education as to how to SUSTAIN a solid consumer base. Yeah, they make $$$, and they got over $100 from me for okay games and less than acceptable support, but not again. I'm on to you and I'll gladly be donating my money to another company. In time, I hope NL comes to understand that they cannot lord over us as though we were insignificant profit centers.

P.S. Since there are many of us out here who actually give NL FREE PRESS by investing time, money and work into making the DF community what it is (where has Nova been again as we've been building a community), I feel as though it would be prudent to listen to us. I can honestly say that if it wasn't for my squad, I'd have put these games down long ago. Nothing Nova's done has fostered any desire to stay. Put out a game-cool-only for a few weeks. To same-same. It's the DF community that has spawned (with no armor this time, apparently) around the games that give NL the business. Single players dedicated to the game for more than a few months are rare. Those of us who are over 2 yr. veterans are for sure here because of the community. Don't you dare go ruining that as well.

no news on the 50 player server yet but i dont think itll take long to make a patch

not to sure what the deal is with the name change thing though (bit unnesasery in my eyes)

Yes they have. The Master Addon has been updated. Come by DFLegends.com 50plyr server and check it out. It does still look like a 16 player, but it is 50...lol. Lets have some fun.
