Christian students beheaded in Indonesia

Three teenage Christian women have been beheaded by two men near the Muslim town of Poso in eastern Indonesia.

Two men on a motorcycle and armed with machetes attacked the 16-year-old students on the eastern island of Sulawese, a police official in Poso.

"The men slashed and chopped off their heads. One of the students managed to escape and jumped into the bushes in a ravine and the assailants stopped chasing her," said the official who declined to be identified.

Poso, 900 miles northeast of Jakarta, is in an area where three years of Muslim-Christian clashes have killed 2,000 people until a peace deal was agreed in late 2001.

Although religious fighting has largely subsided, tension is still running high in the region following bombings in the neighbouring Christian town of Tentena which killed 22 people in May.

Security experts have said local Islamic radicals may have been responsible for the bombings in Tentena but police said they had no information on who was responsible for Saturday's attacks.

Police said the student who escaped said the attackers wore helmets and carried a two-way radio.

The three headless bodies of the high school students, dressed in brown uniforms, were left at the site of the attack. Three heads were found at separate locations two hours later by residents.

"One was found about 100 metres away from a church," said police.

The wounded student was treated for cuts to her face at a local hospital.

About 85 per cent of Indonesia's 220 million people are Muslim. But in some eastern parts, Christian and Muslim populations are about equal.

Yes chief I dont know what religion I follow, I just believe that god exists and there is only one god, I could be wrong to the next man that believes in something else but I would not want to kill him because he thinks different, I just cant see the logic in it.

I also believe in what I see as the most powerfull Commandment " Thou Shalt Not Kill"
I dont understand how someone can say go blow yourself up or chop someones head off, And you will goto heaven.
And the hardest part of my understanding, Is that the people that do it believes them. How do they know Is there a secret Phone where they phone up and ask god is it ok?
I know God answers in his own way But not through words more through feelings, So how would someone know he said yes its ok?

It all just confuses me, I dont goto church as I believe god can hear you where ever you are.

I guess its just part of this crazy world were living in, As were all on the same road We will all find out Why.

I hope this makes sence and dont touch too much on Religious Beliefs too much, Its just we are all human, We all live on one planet and we will all find out who is right and who is wrong, You dont have to kill we will all find our own way there.

many times in history it always be some religion leader who fool people into doing thing they normally will not do at all. taken the holy words and make it to seem a good ID to do things.

many religion had their fill of fake religion leader/teachers they basic do it to Cain come higher stander and be sides power feel they get out of it. by tricking other to do their will. in some ways they feel they are a god of some type like i can make people do what i say, 10.000 people gone blown them selves up for what they say is right thing to do.

really sad kids & adult were being use to kill others. so some religion leader get a cheap feel of glory out of it.

im not religious either, and yes, it really is sickening to think that this was over religion. but when u think about it, a lot of conflicts and wars are over religion
