Angry Campain Missions Problem

I can't do the campaign missions. When I get in there, I pick a mission, or just leave it on the default one and the little button below that "Mission Briefing" is greyed out. The cd's in the drive, it can read it (I can play quick missions and the video at the front plays as well...no cd equals no videoplay, lol). I even went in a fooled w/the compatiblity stuff (I've got Windows XP Home), didn't work. I checked Nova's knowledge base and the only problem that sounded kind of like mine was caused by the cd not being in the tray, which isn't my case (and no scratches or anything on the bottom of the cd). I've even reinstalled the game, with nothing changing.

I'm not happy because I just got this game today, wanted to toy with the campaign missions and then I get home, install it, and I can't play them.

Patching the game didn't help me, either. Did anyone ever have this problem and if so, how do you fix it?
