Hopefully it will be a better than the LOTR.
That was too long ( book and film ).
The Hobbit is a much smaller story and easier to enjoy.

It has taken them long enough, I have heard about it since the last LOTR movie came out.

Heh ^^ i haven't read the whole book to be honest. I'de rather wait for the film and not be able to complain about 'this is missing from the book, blah blah!'

I'll watch the film, then read the book after ive enjoyed the movie ;P

The Hobbit was the first fantasy book I read.

I used to read a lot of murder mystery books but after reading the Hobbit, I started reading science fiction & fantasy books.

One of the best fantasy seres is Dragonlance.
The books by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman ( The Chronicles Trilogy and Legends Trilogy ) are a must read.
