I'm reading the Wikipedia article on Obsessive-compulsive Disorder...

I'm starting to get thoughts whether I have it or not... If so, just a real minor hint maybe...

Here's some of the stuff I've done or may do now...:

Quote:
Sexual obsessions or unwanted sexual thoughts. Two classic examples are fear of being homosexual or fear of being a pedophile. In both cases, sufferers will obsess over whether or not they are genuinely aroused by the thoughts.
I'M NOT GAY! LOL.

Quote:
One serious symptom which stems from this is "counting" steps, e.g. feeling the necessity to take twelve steps to the car in the morning.
Quote:
he thoughts, impulses, or images are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems.
Quote:
The tendency to haggle over small details that the viewer is unable to fix or change in any way. This begins a mental pre-occupation with that which is inevitable.
I don't get stressed all the time lol. I see myself to be living a fairly happy life. Well, maybe a bit of computer stress, lol.

Quote:
Repetitive behaviors or mental acts that the person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession, or according to rules that must be applied rigidly.
Quote:
The behaviors or mental acts are aimed at preventing or reducing distress or preventing some dreaded event or situation; however, these behaviors or mental acts either are not connected in a realistic way with what they are designed to neutralize or prevent or are clearly excessive.
Anyone here probably experienced these before? There better be some people who probably have - I ain't being the odd one out!

Chris

Hah, just read a list on this site of what guys with OCD do and it's not really like me... Like washing my hands all the time, or, flashing images, etc.

Quote:
There's a difference between being a perfectionist and having obsessive-compulsive disorder. Perhaps you keep the floors in your house so clean that you could eat off them. Or you like your knickknacks arranged just so. That doesn't necessarily mean that you have obsessive-compulsive disorder.
There we go!

Actually, I'm only really a perfectionist when it comes to computer-related things - don't ask me why. In the real world, I'm perfectly fine... :S

There is a term somewhere for when people read symptoms of somethign then start thinking that they have that "something"...like medical student syndrome or something. Cant remember exactly.

Man you must be pretty bored to look up random things like that...

You have OCD Spazz? :O

I may have a real minor hint of it TBH, and that's all. It doesn't really bug me all the time. Like when I'm talking, I may have the urge to raise my voice when it's not necessary. Or I may stare at something for ages looking like I don't know what it is, when I do know what it is.

Well, we're all human aren't we?

I also happened to be real bored last night, and once I read the article, I finally found out that I might have that... And I was also intentionally looking for it. (LOL I fought my little gay syndrome never existed!)

It's only really noticeable when I'm working out. After EVERY set I do I go down to the locker room and wash my hands. I have other habits as well, but I don't feel like talking about them.

Yeah Chris, who looks up stuff on wikipedia when bored? You're a nut case! (j/k)

You're wierd Mauser. But i often develope the urge to smash someone's head in at work. Namely one of those filthy customers. They trash the place, leave stuff on the shelves that shouldnt be there, get in your way, and worst of all, strike up conversations with other customers that block up entire aisles. Its time like that when i yearn for the spilling of blood! Seriously....i just want to slam someone when it gets like that.

Anything I read that I can relate to, isn't boring to me. Meh, better than smoking.

Those stupid little kids at my school who walk around looking for trouble and think they got their big bros to back them up I feel like to smash. Wearing those gay caps thinking they're all Crip and all... I don't really have a problem if someone acts gangster or anything - as long as I don't got to do with it.

All the kids ive seen in your country (based on the NZ cop shows they show here) are imbeciles. Prancing around at the early hours of the night contorting their fingers to form some retarded gang insignia...idiocy at its highest. But i guess that goes for practically anywhere....this stupid kid called me an a$$hole while i was out on the scooter, so i said "f*** you!" and he ran off. Never seen him again.
