Shot over a game????

Hi all,

Well yesterday I came across an extraordinary news item on a PC game website. The site is www.pcgameworld.com and the article was about a guy in the Philipines who shot a girl just because she was beating on a computer game!!!! He killed her with a home made shotgun because she was kicking his ass on the game and gently ribbing him. What the hell is going on? As I understand it, these games are supposed to bring people from all over the world together not end in bloodshed!!!! I know this is an isolated incident (thank God) but I was so shocked to read it and I read it 3 times just to make sure I wasn't going nuts!!!! For my own part I have found most of the people who play on-line games to be friendly, chatty, helpful and I have been lucky enough to make new friends who I am going to meet up with and all throught his great game Delta Force. Some people seem to take playing certain games far to seriously in my opinion because, after all they are just games and meant to be fun. I would like to hear anyone's comment on this. Tell me what you think about it. As I have said, this is an isolated incident but what the hell is the world coming to????

Well, I'm from Holland. Such a thing happend here also. There were 3 children (2brothers and and a girlfriend) playing with eachother on the computer. 1 of them lost from the little girl and therefor killed the girl by choking her. Those were just little kids, 7-9 years old!!!

The world isn't coming to anything. It is as it always has been, a dangerous place to disagree with another.
In the 80's a 19 year old was killed because he as the groups Dungeon Master killed off another guys character which was at level 100+ after 18 months playing.....

In the Victorian ages children were killed if they were caught stealing and the police would cover it up if the children were poor.

In Brazil and particularly Rio, Policemen are employed to 'dispose' of street children by the local Government.

Isolated incident or no, the point was the murder in your story was a nutter and Games online or otherwise cannot take account of or responsibility for this kind of anti-social behaviour.

We may yet solve the problem of world poverty and war but I very much fear our grandkids will read silly stories like that.
I also fear the chap that killed the girl is almost suicidal with regret and looking to blame something else for his compulsion.

Such is life. Keep a check on your behaviour and never ever go by the mistaken belief that you could never kill someone.
You could and that knowledge gives you the edge in the fight to supress primal instinct.

in the end days brother nwill turn on brothers and parents on their childern . things will get so bad that the ppl will turn to anyone who will give them a way out then the antichrist shall step in and he will rein for 7 yrs then the lord jesus shall return to put his feet on the soil and bind him.

For those of you who do not belive that is fine lets say it isnt true what did you hurt in tour life by beliveing after all it turned out not to be true and your body just rotted in the groung .burt what if it was true and now you get to spend eturnity in hell where the fire never dies and your thrist is never quinched just because you didnt want to belive in something. but your still fooling yourself because you are still beliveing something.

Hello all,

Well I'm not to sure about the reign of Satan or anything like that Texas but I respect your opinions. I just think that it was a horrible thing to happen and as our good friend zza1pqx has pointed out, there are many wicked things going on in the world. Unfortunately, I think it is the nature of the creatures we are, or rather, choose sometimes to be. Let's all hope this was a one off and perhaps there was more to it than was actually reported. Either way, it was a terrible act of violence.
