Couple of Mapping Questions

When mapping buildings, how do you get them to not show grass through the floors? Do you "snap to terrain"? How do you get the weapons placed properly on the roofs of the buildings? Is there a general Z value you usually set them at? What about weapons or items in a building just under sea level such as the chemical storage bunker? Do you set their Z value at -3 or something of that nature? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

place a tile (try tile 40) on the spot where the building is. it will remove grass.

when you place a weapon on a building, highlight both the building and the weapon ,then click on wire frame, then move the item up and down by using the shift + up or down arrows.

To use the wireframe to place objects :

Use the arrow keys to move the object in the wireframe .
The [ and ] keys are used to select objects in the wireframe.
On the number pad 2,4,6, and 8 rotate the views .
Number pad 5 will center the view in the wireframe.
number pad 1 will select all objects in the wireframe.
number pad 7,9 and 3 are collision views.
Shift + arrow up or down moves the objects up and down
The - and = keys rotate the item in Y axis
and shift plus - or = will rotate the object in the X axis.



Some items like the chemical bunker and the tunnels will work underground.
