is this for real?, i figured out a reason that the rifles in DFX is all messed up in the ballistics department.
1st of all the .308,there isnt much point of going over 2900fps fer ya end up with a problem of throat erosion in the chambre, they had it set to 1100meters per second witch is around about 3300fps witch would be too hot of a load fer most real guns, pluss if it did stand it it would erode the hell out of the barrel and cause other problems.....
and the weight in grains was set at 300gr, im like wth,lol, there is no such creature that i know of a 300gr hpbt in .308 or 7.62x51mm nato.
most of the time they are using the M118 LR witch is a 174gr hpbt at around 2600-2700fps the LR stands for long range.
they had the 50cal barret velocity set to over 3200fps with a 250gr bullet,lol.
the military straight sniping round in .50BMG is a atleast 660gr.
they had the 5.56mm or .223 ammo in the m16 and M4 set to 3000fps thats about rite fer the .223 fer it was origionally set up as a varmint round.
they also had the weight in grains for the 223 set in the range of 150gr, in truth it is around about 69-75gr fer it is just that the diameter of the round is .223 witch is two hundred twenty three thousandths of an inch, witch isnt really much diffrent than a jacketed 22cal round.
and they had the 9mm silenced Mp5
rounds set at over 2000fps, any1 who knows anything about ballistics and firearms knows that you cant silence a supersonic round, for you end up with the sonic shockwave that makes as loud a noise as the round discharging, the speed of sound is roughly 700mph..
its a wonder that novalogic got the ballistics to do anything other than firing the gun and the round falling out the barrel and not going farther that 2 feet.
they should seriously consider hiring some1 with knowldege of rifle and pistol ballistics and operation, or atleast get a dang reloader manul.
pluss they have a new setting where it has the entry called minium stable speed, after the drag slows the round to this speed it is like something just yanks the round out of the air, goes sreight so far and then it does a 90* angle and hits dirt.
i fixed most of this to where the bullet actually arcs lwith the effects of the gravity and wind and other climit factors.

anyway i spent 3 hours last night fixing this and getting the game to where it was even remotely accurate.
