Routers

I have 2 WRT54G from linksys and 5 static IP's I got with my new 8.0/2.0mb business cable connection. I'm going to be hosting some things from home so I'm trying to become a network admin here. Heres my setup right now:

1 Personal Cable connection with a Linksys WRT54G router hosting 2 computers. I use this for my daily internet surfing & laptop..

1 Business class cable connection and a linksys WRT54G router for hosting. I am using the router soley for the SPI firewall, because a hardware firewall is much better then a software firewall. And if I can figure this out I will be able to network all 3 computers together with 2 seperate connections and 2 routers for my home network to be able to manage my 3rd computer (the server) over my network.

Here is what I am trying to accomplish:

First to get the 2nd router to take at least 2 of the static IP's either using DCHP or not. And then run a cable from my first router into the second NIC installed into my server computer so I can manage this network locally. Over the internet is not an option. Anyone have any clues?

For the visual people, here is an image I made up quick..

cant really figure it out properly, hard to imagine without doing it myself.

we had 10 pc's linked and some were on 2 different networks using more than one NIC. but the (one LAN network and one for accessing internet) IP's could be a problem although each network connection can just have a different ip. but as i said cant work it properly without trying to recreate it :/

I haven't tried to configure it yet since the new connection gets installed tomorrow, just trying to save myself a big headache. I think I got it covered though I will not be able to use more then 1 of the static ips since my router does not suppory that I don't think. I'll know for sure tomorrow. After thinking about it for a long time and creating the network (without the second modem) it hit me that any incomming router connections go through the same router out-going, so if i'm right then I shouldn't have a problem. But I would like to use more then one of the ips.

Maybe I should start looking for a firewall switch or something

I did it. I cannot believe it but my theory worked. I only have 1 static IP but I tricked godaddy into only using 1 ip for both dns name servers. Don't know wtf you need 2 diffrent IP's for nameservers if they are coming from the same location anyways.

It took me about 5-6 hours to figure it all out, that's mostly cause of the new version router I got. The WRT54G v5 router blows, it kept crashing and had to be reset about 15 times. I have my server computer going through my v3 router at the moment without a hitch and am using the v5 for my own connection untill I take it back to look for another v3 or v4. Although there is a little problem with me viewing the websites from my first computer as it treats it like it's coming from my first cable connection and not the dedicated server one (confusing, i cannot explain that in words but I think I have it down in my head). Had some php mail problems again because of that but that's resolved now, and even if that same problem arrives later on it's just a problem for me which I don't really care about, as long as no one else has a problem. Had a few people testing the server today and they said it's very quick which is great. connection slows down a bit when there are a few file transfers going but the fileserver will help on that one.

I love the firewall in the WRT54G router, it's so easy yet very strong and allows me to control the computer only from inside my home network which means I don't have to leave servies like RDP/VNC wide open on the internet for people that want to play. My ONLY complaint is that it cannot take more then 1 static IP.
