My Opinion on DF TFD

Well guys I have to form an honest opinion. Give you the goods on this new release from novalogic. I havnt had a lot of game play. But have had a chance to see what it offers.

Yes it is basicly expansion for DFLW. I will try not to use what anyone elses review said except this one. Panther at www.dfhq.net said about this game. " This is what nova-logic should have done with lw." And I have to agree.

First of I wasnt able to see any blackdots. For those who dont know about black dots. They were when a sniper ran to a distant hill they would turn into a black dot. So there were visible and easy targets. LMAO I went into a sniper server and got slaughtered. I couldnt find them. The bullets said they were coming from one direction. But no black dots. Now you actually have to hunt for them.

I personally like the terrains. There is a lot of flat land for building my CQB maps. In addition to lots of new terrains for snipers. These are probably my favorite thing on the game.

The weapons. There are a few new weapons. Most of the weapons from DFLW are still here with some new ones added. I thing they edited all the sounds though. The M249 that I love so much sounds more realistic to me. Doest have that deep rumble sound like in DFLW. Has more of a clangy hollow sound. AT4 has more realistic sound as well. And no double loads of the rockes. Thank God! The UAV isnt all that. As its for playing Single Player only. And all those maps suck to me. I dont really get into the single player mode of games.

The Mission Editor. This has a lot more items in it. Making maps is a bit rough on this one. I have to search alot for finding each item. And the ones I remember from DFLW are a different name now. LOL Gotta learn another editor now. Hopefully soon someone comes out with the Item Viewer. Thats a great tool for DFLW Mission Editors. But there are a lot more items in the Editor.

Thats about it for an overview. Probably I'd have bought it even if I did play it first. Its like DFLW with more added to it. I personally like all of these DF games and will enjoy playing it. I will sit and play these and wait patiently for DF BHD to be released in October I think.

game done except for quick missions.

there is one level, mission, where is it actually like a "Rambo" movie. stop all vehicles and people from crossing the border. GOOD LUCK!!! i would take a saw or a high rate of fire gun with lots of ammo for it. once u get to the spot its all about cover and constant firing!!!

as for me...
i can see black dots, playing at 800x600. some buildings have glitches. don't see all the stuff thats supposed to be interchangeable with each other. new sounds are awesome!
terrains are huge. most with large sections of flat ground for bases. i love the different uniforms. thats all i can think of for now. got ta go to work. later.

I have just a couple things to say about the new game......First is I love it. Second is.....THANK GOD NO MORE MM1!!!!!!!! YIPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did see the black dots too. That part does suck, espicially since I am a sniper. When I was in the military, I didnt have a black dot when I was perched high on a hill. (except if I had to go really really bad) LOL
