Angry The lie that is "England"

Today a great nation celebrates it's independence from tyranny whilst the nation that was that tyranny turns into a new kind of tyranny!

We cannot celebrate St Georges day in England because it might "offend" those who are not of our culture, of course they are English/British when it comes to benefitting from living in England/Britain but we dare not celebrate our democracy and our freedoms because we mustn't be seen to be nationalistic!

We have the "mother" of all parliaments but we don't have a true representation in it any longer, we have a group of people who are slowly but surely destroying this land of ours and allowing anyone and everyone to flood into this small island because they strive to be politically correct.

This "scepterd" isle as Winston Churchill once described it is rapidly becoming a land fit only for those who follow the lead of the polictically correct. I wish for my children and Granddaughter the freedom that our cousins across the Atlantic have and a constitution that enshrines our right to be English and free!

This land doesn't belong to it's people anymore, it belongs to those who will sell it out and they make a mockery of those who gave their lives in the second war to preserve the rights of the people of Britain.

Regards from a rather sad Baddog

After reading this I am rather saddened.
I've found this prayer and wanted to share.

Prayer for England

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,

and our most gentle Queen and Mother,

look down, in mercy, upon England,

and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in you.

By you it was that Jesus, our Saviour and our hope, was given to our world;

and He has given you to us that we may hope still more.

Plead for us your children

whom you did receive and accept at the foot of the Cross,

O sorrowful Mother!

Intercede for all who share our baptism,

that together, united in one fold,

with the chief Shepherd, the Vicar of your Son,

we may, like our fathers of old,

offer this nation a living witness of your Son's great love for all peoples.

Pray for us all dear Mother, that by faith - fruitful in good works -

we may all deserve to see and praise God,

together with you in our heavenly home.

Amen.

England is part of the "United Kingdom" of Scotland, Wales and Northen Ireland Chief, however it really hasn't been a "United Kingdom" for some years now as Scotland, Wales and Northern Irleand all have their seperate parliaments or asembly's....there's a thought why no seperate English parliament?

The Irish Republic was one part of what was called "Great Britain" but years of brutal misrule by Britain led to the Irish Rebellion and the setting up of the then called Irish Free State, later to become the Irish Republic and a grand a fine nation it has become.

Perhaps England/Britain once the worlds mightiest "superpower" with a huge empire is now paying the price of it's own arrogance for it's past history? I don't know... but I do know there is an unease about this nation amongst her people that I have never witnessed before.

Warmest Regards as always

Not many celebrate the indepencence of Sweden that accured in 1523 (broke of the Kalmar Union) but atleast its finally a holyday now hehe. I guess we have been independent to long to care much about it. You so see the Swedish flag all over the country (as its a official flag day) and i love how the flags go with the blue buses we have Its a lovley sight!

But i'm not much of a independence day celibrator my self so i shouldn't complain.

The independence of norway is getting more ettention in Sweden then the Swedish indepencence in Sweden is.

One cool thing is that we god our independence celibration in the 80ies (yes 1980ies!) hehe, so its a really new celibration for us

Not an easy subject to answer bro and it's more of a feeling when your around and about but there is definitely a sense of deep uncertainty in this country now and the only period like it before, or so I'm told by one of my neighbours, a grand old gentleman who fought in North Africa in the second war, was in the period leading up to September 1939...... of course it may not be the same every where but these is an unease here and there.

Regards

P.S. Silent...... Happy Swedish Independence Day to you, when ever and how ever you decide to celebrate it bro!!!!

One great fight in El Alamein (well several, but one in perticular)! Awsome tactics used!! Doubt that was it as that was fought in 1942 and not 1939 but i'm sure they used awsome tactics where he fought aswell!

Anyways, as you can't celebrate yours there, come to Sweden and celebrate it, I'm sure it will take on better then the Swedish one anyways, and its not at the same time so it should work out, maybe even our blue buses can have the british falgs for ya

By the way, already "celebrated" our independence day (6th of june) but as its a holiday now i wasn't awake to see any buses. As I usually travel by these blue buses, took a sleep in instead to bad as they're so nice. Unfortently for rest of Sweden they wont have these blue buses (that i know of) Wont go with the flag in such a nice way as the blue buses are

By the way, did you know that EU wants Sweden to pay 800 milion more per year Our minister said no thought

BADDOG, are you saying that you cannot celebrate St. George's Day at all? And by whose edict?

I'm surprised the English stand for it. We have tons of politically "correctness" here in the US, but I feel (and hope!) that if anyone, especially the government, recommended we not celebrate the 4th, there would be a violent uprising.

Cool

It's not so much we cannot celebrate it as it's frowned upon by the powers that be and all in the interest of "harmony" which it does little to promote as it causes resentment amongst the English people!

Warm Regards

BADDOG, you're posts in this thread are how ive been feeling for ages now, but you've managed to word them in a way that i can't. I am very patriotic myself and am damn proud to be english, and a cockney at that! To realise now im older, that you cannot celebrate st george's day really peaved me off. Escpecially at the fact that we could offend those in the country who dont follow the same beliefs as us. Today's totally barbaric events just make me even more mad, the fact that we cant celebrate our national day because of the very people that come over, live here, then blow the place to pieces.... as like the 10/11 incident. WHERE IS THE SENSE IN IT!?!?!

Strong views ive wanted to view for a while, and thankyou baddog for providing somewhere for that.. phew

I think that with the bombings it should be a rallying point for more patriotism. I daresay 9/11 was the best thing for America since WW2. Of course it was an awful, terrible event, but we have people refusing to say the pledge of allegiance, turning their backs towards the flag during the pledge, and literally bringing this country down. After 9/11, those people would have been shot.

Disasters are a wonderful way to give a country a good shot of patriotism. I'm sad to say that the shot has worn off now, but hopefully you English won't let it wear off as quickly.
