We should just keep our necks out of it.
Let the country blow itsself up. When they kill eachother off then we won't have to worry about them.

We did that with Germany in both world wars, and look what happened
I somewhat agree though. Just make sure none of it gets out of the country, and they can kill themselves all they want. |

Well Germany was a big threat to us. They were sinking passenger ships and cargo ships that were comming from the US. Not to mention they tried to get mexico to declare war on us (if that is even true).
Anywho...I doubt at this point Syria is that big of a threat. I think they should just kill eachother off and save us the trouble of going in there.

Well, Middle Politics is a very interesting. There's always more it than what meets the eyes.
Our reason for going after Syria, and possibly after Iran, have the following factors: 1. Capture the remaining elements of terrorist network we've read about so much. (Syria still has members of Saddam's gang) 2. Stablize the Iraqi situation (Elections and so forth) 3. Stablize on going peace process (Israel and Palestine) 4. Neutralize any confirmed or unconforemd nuclear asperations (Syria, Iran, Saudi, Jordan ) 5. Somewhat control the flow of oil (We have bases in most oil producing countries now) 6. Provide security to Israel so it can move ahead with peace process. (Major demand) 7. Because of above please local investor and voter banks. 8. Push local power house countries to move towards democracy with an injection of their brand. There are other elements which are still developing, which are due to local elements of this region: 1. Increase in power of Shieth section muslims in the Islamic World (Afghanistan and Iraq) 2. Increasing Russian influence (Iran) |

No no no, you have to go back earlier than that. I'm talking before the war. And before I go on, you refer to the Zimmermann Plot, and yes, it's true, though Mexico didn't agree.
There was trouble in Germany, and anyone who took the time to keep informed knew about it. It was plain as day that they were just itching to do some take overs. If we hadn't been using isolationism as our foreign policy, we might have been able to shorten the length of the Great War, and possibly even keep it from happening. Then, once again before WWII, we knew what was happening over there. We knew about Hitler and his ideals, and we knew he was popular. Yet everyone, including Neville Chamberlain, decided that he really wasn't that bad, and things spun out of control. A little intervention would have gone a long way. Of course, had that been the case, there wouldn't have been a Normandy and the game and movie industry would be out millions...I think it was a conspiracy |

It seems logical...they screw up their business so much, they must have had a hand in 1900's politics...right?

Hehe, I like this idea someone said in one of my history classes when we were having a debate.
"Why don't we just take the 4 people in the middle east that are not insane terrorists and then nuke the rest?"

Sounds great, except the part about find 4 sane people and nuking. Good luck finding four sane people And let's not nuke. We need to use those bombs that have the same power, but no radiation and fallout and all that crap associated with nukes. For the life of me though, I can't remember what they're called :/

They do, however it dissipates quickly. http://www.manuelsweb.com/neutronbomb.htm
It's also easy to contain to a certain area. |

So now we know who is trying to build a neutron bomb.
Time to contact the FBI That is cool I am going to read it. It also says in there that Neutron bombs can make it so metals absorb the radiation...that could be bad.
