help?

i have downloaded a file and placed it in a folder on my spare drive, inside the folder is other stuff i need to keep...when i try to view inside the folder it closes everything and my desktop refreshes...i cant get to keep the folder open and delete the file...does anyone know how i can get to it to delete it....:*(

ps..the internet should not allow idiots to have access to it :( some clever **** is having a laugh no doubt at the amount of trouble hes causing :(

pps..its not a virus just an exe i think that denies access to where-ever its placed :( norton doesnt see it :( so i cant even quarentine it :(
