eek Joint Operations Tour!

Participate in the Official Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising Tour Sponsored by ATI and Help Set a World Record
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — 6/24/2004 – Game center organization iGames and publisher NovaLogic are pleased to announce the launch of the official Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising Tour, presented by ATI and co-sponsored by Sapphire. “ATI is pleased to sponsor the Official Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising Tour and looks forward to a record-setting summer in online gaming,” said Ian McNaughton, Senior Brand Marketing Manager for ATI Technologies. The official tour will kick off in late June and will continue within iGames-affiliated game centers until a final event on September 21 st, 2004, with prizes provided by ATI and Sapphire. “This timing is great as many players who happen to be students will be on their summer breaks, so they can enjoy some quality gaming time playing in the JointOps tour,” says Carol Bennett, Director of Event Operations for iGames.

Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising is the only FPS to allow players to participate in mammoth 150 player battles with no subscription fee, more than double the player hosting capability of any other FPS. Incorporating vast maps of up to 50 km sq, a full 24 hour day/night cycle and 29 different land, sea and air vehicles to control, Joint Operations represents a huge leap forward for multiplayer FPS games.

The Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising tour gets underway with a game showcase in centers, where players get to try the game for one hour free. The showcase will run from Wednesday, June 23 rd through Tuesday, July 6 th. Click here to find a participating center near you.

On Saturday, June 26 th, players will get to take part in a Joint Operation: Typhoon Rising Launch Party where they’ll help to set a world record for the highest number of players online in an FPS game ever! Participating players will have their name entered into a drawing for ATI X800 Video cards and more! The launch party, in conjunction with the showcase, will open the tour, which will happen at many game centers around North America. Centers will be creating their own events during these 3 months, and players can keep track of upcoming events here .
