I do, just mostly easy trails so I'm not sure it would count as real mountainbiking but it's more for exersice then sport. Currently ride a Scott bike, really good bikes!
Haven't been out in the winter with this bike but I used to almost everyday during the winters and it's really refreshing and it's not that cold as long as you push and get your body heat up. Also the best with biking in the winter is that there are no flies that tries to make you eat them The coldest I've biked through is -31 one morning but it was a bit too cold haha And the only time I've experienced temps that low around here, the lowest is usually around -25 and thats rarly that cold during the day usually never lower then -20 during the day and usually around -10 so you defenetly have it colder where you are Ath! By the way, can reccomend Alexrims, the type I have works great for both bulky MBT tires and thin racing tires, so one set of rims for two different types of riding, racing and MBT My bike: Last edited by SilentTrigger; 01-21-2013 at 12:20 PM. |

Nice bike ST. I don't think I have heard of that brand here. I know Scott makes a lot of snowboarding/paintball stuff. Wonder if it is the same company.
This is the one I am using this summer:

Nice bike Ath, never heard of that brand though? I'm guessing it's a canadian brand?
It's the same scott brand, they make all sorts of stuff for winter sports |

Yeah this one's an off-brand. I was looking into Cannondale (almost bought one but they didn't have my size), Trek, Specialized, and GT but none of them had as good of components and they were at least $100 more.

Here you go... I think it looks just as good in real life. The quality of the bike is actually better than the Cannondale I checked out, especially when it comes to the cassettes.

Thats really nice, love white! Yeah then 29" is a bit much, it's even a bit much for me at times but it's great for long distance runs on pavment, but it is a bit harder in terrain with a big bike so it's a bit of a trade off.
Have to comment a bit on my last post, the first bike I bought wasn't bad, it had shimano gears and so on but the cassettes as you spoke of ware lower grade aswell as bearings and the disc brake made an annoying sound every turn of the disk which means something is not aligned as it should be and that was the main thing which made me return it |

My previous bike was a Walmart bike and it was the biggest piece of crap I've ever owned.
The caliper on my bike rubs right now but I think it jus needs to be adjusted. I am going to take it to have it tuned today or tomorrow.

Yep and its a slight difference with a mechanical disc break as hydraulic press from two sides while mechanical often press from one side against a stationary side (although there are mechanical with two moving sides) so there usually always is some "rubbing".
In my opinion mechanical disc breaks usually have a better precision then hydraulic, while many disagree stating that hydraulic are more precise but from my experience from both I would definitely say that mechanical disc breaks have the upper hand on feel and precision |

Got it tuned yesterday and the bike is awesome to ride. I am impressed at how smooth the ride is and how clean the shifting is. I am stoked to go riding on some trails.
