any one know why the XM8 or M8 (X for Still Expremental)
was canceled? i though it was a great waepon. if ya dunno what i'm talking heres a video. its a H&K Weapon made of strong light weight meterial, it uses the 5.56X45mm NATO round and uses a 30 round magazine, it comes with a redot sight and back up iron sights. it is capable to change in to the "Gunner" mode or the sharp shooter. the gun is user friendly for left and right handed shooters. this gun looks too mutch like the G36 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63cxeEq5gUk and a pic Earlyest model with the "duckbill" flash hider

I believe I heard it was cost to manufacture vs what militaries wanted to pay. Also the different versions were not fully interchangable, such as swap the barrel and chamber and it would become a higher or same caliber sniper rifle or a submachine gun using the basic assault rifle platform. And that was something that any military would like, saves money and makes it easier to bring many different waepons to the feild and not need the extra logistics for each type. 1 type same universal parts. So the cost of R&D was skyrocketing based on what the market wanted, and the profit would take years to get to once in production.
Thats only what i heard, so dont quote me on this.
