Dedicated Server Problem.
Has anybody got any advice on a solution to a problem we are having with our new dedicated server for team sabre?
1) the problem is we paid for the server in advance and once we got the game setup we found that with it being a dedicated unmanaged server it only posessed an 8mb graphics card. 2) the game once fired up starts a graphics check and then fails it due to the card only being 8mb. I would like to know if a) there is a way of bypassing the graphics check using command line options in the shortcut to the game. b) or is there some way of emulating a better graphics card and fooling the graphics check into thinking its got a better card. c) any thing that would help bypass most of the checks the game runs as it starts up. The graphics on the server is an intel(r) e7221 card which is a standard onboard server graphics chip. any help on this will much appreciated.

I think your hot should fix this, because (if they told you its a gameserver) they supplied it.
So therefore they have to make sure its able to work.

most of the time that can be uped via shared memory in the bios so the system uses ram in place of video memory..

but of the card sux, then it will fail the check, even if it had 256MB ram, it is just not supported by the game.
this prob comes from the lack of dedicated server tools :/ i htink the pass / fail can be changed in teh cfg file in the install folder somewhere. but i dont really know more than that sorry |

the video info is stored in dfv.cfg
The hardest part may be getting the guid for the video card. Here is mine: hw3d_name = "RADEON 9550 " hw3d_guid = "D7B71EE2-0213-11CF-136A0824A1C2CB35" hw3d_matchz = 0 hw3d_res512x384 = 0 hw3d_res640x480 = 1 hw3d_res800x600 = 1 hw3d_res1024x768 = 1 hw3d_res1280x1024 = 1 hw3d_res1600x1200 = 0 hw3d_res1920x1440 = 0 hw3d_res2048x1536 = 0 changing a 0 to a 1 shows that it passed for that resolution. So, all you should have to do is a: Get the guid for the video card b: Get the name for the video card c: edit your dfv.cfg file entering in the information gathered in a and b. d: change 0 to 1 for the resolution your game is set to and for what the desktop resolution is set to (may not be needed, but it wouldn't hurt). hth, IcI |

get the server company to reboot into the bois and see if they can increase the cards RAM, then do what icishoot said above and this should work, did for my dedicated server anyway

a gameserver should have a better videocard. What hosting company is it??? And were the specs known before you paid for the dedicated server?
