Emnurating

do you have any CD copy software (like cloneCD) on your system if so unstill it then try again.

can't log-on using the same Key code for said game some software MFG block that & some not.

what game are we talking about that gave you this error.

i had a error from game Cel can't remember the full name but it would not work ether the company that made it said i had to remove my Cd/DVD writer & use a normal DVD/Cd rom drive in the system for it to work. i return the game to the store and said it never work got another game totally NFS: Underground 1.

Emnurating problem?

Just to narrow it down, if you're talking about DF, that means the game you're talking about is DFLW+ or JO.

You said ping right? Well DFLW or DFTFD don't show ping so you must be talking about DFBHD then (I knew this at the start by the way).

Do you have a router or a firewall? If a firewall, make sure an exception is added to that firewall; where it be ZoneAlarm, Windows Firewall, etc. it doesn't matter...

Router? Well, don't ask me about that dude!

Also, when asking for help, try and tell as much as you can. Telling your problem without telling the game you're having a problem with is not good bro... not good...

Good luck and all.

Chris

Uninstall the firewall and try and see if it does the same problem. If the problem doesn't occur anymore, reinstall your firewall and try and ask help to try and get the firewall to enable the game. If it does the same problem, reinstall anyway.

Just incase danno88 doesn't know, it's ''Stealth Mode''.

Just wondering if danno88 has uninstalled the firewall temporarily to see if the game is working good...

Erik, p*ss off if you've got nothing good to say.

You've always seemed negative to everyone and everything. We're here to help the dude, so if you want to be such a low-lifer then do so at your own discretion...
But not here...

Yes you can be hacked without a firewall.

I only told you to uninstall the firewall just to see if the game worked. I didn't ask to have it uninstalled permanently though lol.

You either:
1. Try and find a solution to making the firewall allow the game to work.
2. Get a different firewall. I recommend ZoneAlarm or Windows Firewall.
3. I don't know...
4. I don't know...

BTW, my idea I said to disable firewall lol.

get another firewall is all you need to do.

Zone alarm is great for gamers.

some firewalls will block ports from connecting is all.

set to
med range security
Disable: Sealth mod
Disable: anti-port scan

some games need to use these item if they are enable the game will not connect to the servers

I currently have Windows Firewall and it's good for me. To be honest, I've never had any thing wrong with the computer for nearly one year. If anything went wrong on the computer, it's either because I installed something that had crap in it... etc. etc.

Do you have XP SP2 danno88?

If he can't be bothered to download a good firewall, I would prefer Windows Firewall; which comes with SP2. That's never screwed up online gaming for me to be honest. The only thing that happens when an ''unknown application'' connects to the Net like DFBHD for example, all it does is asks you to block or unblock it, and then you unblock, and whoopdeedoo!

I think too many people underestimate Windows Firewall. Usually using default stuff rather than 3rd party stuff is better and safer in some ways... but not saying 3rd party programs suck though. Both have their own ups and downs...

Also danno88, I suggest you reinstall Sygate and download a firewall first, then quickly uninstall Sygate, and install your new firewall quickly. (I called it Sygate as there's no such firewall as ''Syngate'' on the Net).

And apologies Mike and Chief for the ''incident'' lol.

Chris

Chris bad news Windows Xp Sp2 firewall never get update at all.

its only mean to use when you go online for the first time get updates and get a better firewall.

you could try to use Windows Live care one it has a anti-adware and system tools with it as will a real firewall/antivirus as will. total package deal. from Microsoft they even give you live tech-support service when you signup for their service.

all they items do get updated for it as will.

bad news it is a paid service avg: USD-50.00

my review of it is not good at all, seem to lockup system or made it crash. they do have a 30 day trail to download to try out.

Windows Xp SP2 Firewall is a joke.

think at first Microsoft was going to make a free firewall and adware remove tool but some reason they gone to the paid service plan and call it Windows LiveCare one

Everyone has their own expectations, opinions, etc. so I wouldn't argue with you.

But to be honest, I think Windows Firewall is perfectly fine for me.
