Confused ISDN question

Ok i am ignorant of how it works with modems etc. I have dial up at this time but am checking on isdn because broadband isnt available here in dsl or cable. Ok i talked to the guy who built my pc and he told me i need a isdn modem to use isdn. but i talked to one of the possible providers of the isdn service and they told me that if i get a isdn router that it would connect into my ethernet card and that i would not need to buy a isdn modem. Does anyone here have a clue which one is right?

Well, when I got ISDN. I had an ISDN modem in my pc. A ISDN modemrouter seems to be a little strange cuz it's still a dialup connection. Cuz ISDN makes it possible to go onto the NET and telefoon @ the same time. Or double ur connection as to use both lines to go into the net.
