n00b mapping questions
Hi,
yesterday I tried the first time mapping in my life, for JO:E !!! Some things are relatively easy to find out, others not. For example, when loaded a terrain for my map, there are often hills and mountains and other higher grounds. When I put an object like a building or a tree or something on it, I don´t see weither I set it on a mountain or on the side of a hill, where its either in the ground half way or if its flying over the ground. With the Editor its hard to determine, how do I do that ? Thats one of the most important things I need to know. Thx in advance. Wolfseye |

with NILE, just switch to 3d mode and look around

Thx. I did use NILE now and was able to see in 3D View and with the letters W, S, E, Q i could move through the 3D View but I found no key to rotate the map in 3D View. Otherwise its hard to see how objects, for example buildings made of several parts, are staying to each other. Is there a way also to rotate while in 3D View ?

Find that also now. Maybe there is something else, someone could help me with. When I make a REBEL base on the Ocean, building platforms and put stuff on it. Sure, I must raise the height of each thing there, when I don´t want it to be under the ocean.
But now when I go an set a Start Point for RED TEAM, the markers, they´re of course also under the ocean. But unlike the objects and vehicles and buildings, I can´t raise their height. But then people spawn below water, right ? Who can help me ? Wolfseye |

do you try to select it in 3d mode? if the answer is yes thats all i did, then select the spawn point from the menu on the side.

Yeah, I found it. I set the Spawns for the RED TEAM on this Waterbase I build, as it should be. But, when someone is on the map, he respawns miles away in the ocean.
Or the BLUE BASE, I so far always respawned here where its supposed to, but when a friend, who was in RED team, switched Sides, he spawned with BLUE team again miles away in the water. I don´t get this f..... spawns to work properly. Someone has a short tuturial how to set RED and BLUE team spawns ? Wolfseye |

i wouldn't know anything about multiplayer and spawning and stuff, im just an ordinary single player peep.

if you want them to man the guns straight away then make sure the
- category is "flow control" - set the "condition" to either "ontick" or "past" - seconds is whatever i usually put 1 click ok then click "new action" below to get them to man the guns you need to - change the category to "units" - set the "action" to "unit move to unit" - then in the top "SSN" you put the solider (man1) and the bottom "SSN" you put the gun (gun1) click ok slect "new action" again and - change category to "units" again - set "action" to "unit use" - in "SSN" select the solider (man1) again click ok repeat this for all the units you want to man guns now the soliders should man the guns By:Mr.Ree not me |
