I reinstalled mechwarrior 3 just to re experience them good ole days, i was in 5th or 6th grade the last time i played it which wasa bout 6 years ago.

anyway I found the 1.2 patch for it and this fix just stood out the most.

"- If you quickly type uppercase letters and question marks in the multiplayer chat window, the program no longer crashes."

and then it just hit me! one good way to prevent piracy is require the cd be in your drive just to install the patch!

god i not play MechWarrior 3 in a long time, had it on the shafts for a long time.

were did you find the update for it? gamespy?

i googled "mechwarrior 3 update" and had a small list of community sites that had it

Me either. Probably becaus I sucked at it.

I remember playing a really old computer came but I cannot remember the name of it.. I used to play it at a friends house and you baiscally acquire tanks and try to brake into eachothers bases. It was a pretty simple game but was really fun with 2 players.

I found a game similar in the walmart bargin bin a few years ago but it's not quite the same. It's called "Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps"

I gets BF 2142 tried to take the whole mecwarrior thing in. Its alright

oh BF does it too arcade like. mechwarrior itself is a simulator, theres just so many factors that go into piloting a battlemech. the mechs in 2142 are just push forward to go forward, backwards to go backwards. and theres a weakspot under you between the joints where infantry can shoot

Hehe I just read my post and saw how little sense it makes

Anywho, that is probably the reason I didn`t like Mech Warrior Mstenger....too technical.
