File- Possible Spyware
my firewall keeps blocking a high risk file called- hzoh.exe
the file is found in C>Windows>system32 and i did a scan with 2 spyware programs but it didnt come up. I cant delete the file either for sum reason...any1 have a clue what this might be or how i get rid of it?

Might be a dialer for adware... that has been write protected... I had the prob 1c but then i messed my windows up a few days alter and reformatted (Never use system machanic pro registery clean up, lol) U tried using the Search and destroy adware removel tool?

Try starting your pc in safe mode. ("f8" during boot up I think)
Then try moving it to a new folder. See if your comp will show any errors when rebooted. Or if any installed programs fail to run just move it back. |

do a virus scan with norton, that will let u know if it is a virus or not

i scanned the file with nortan..no viruses found

leave it be, you can left click-on it see "properities" click-on it you should see what program it part of, it should say if it mircosoft leave it be don't even think about it you can use firewall block it that should be ok as long it not a update-tool of some type.

sounds like some worm to me..
my suggestion: 1) kill the task with task manager 2) open regedit 3) check if its sitting somewhere in local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/Run (or RunServices or RunOnce etc..), if you find it, delete the entry 4) same for current_user/software..... 5) see if you have any other files with the same size and/or date 6) either delete them all or keep them somewhere else, maybe you'll find out what it is later (through adware/virus scan with newer version) |
