an Acer UK executive has confirmed the official release date of Windows 7 saying that the Z5600 PC pre-loaded with Windows 7 will become available on October 23, 2009.

This is very good news for all Windows 7 lovers. Those waiting desperately for windows 7 now have a date to anticipate. If you are facing issues with windows Vista, or just cannot wait for an excuse to buy a new PC, Windows 7 will be available to buy from October 22. I am looking forward to using windows 7.

i seen some site were one can buy windows vista and get a free upgrade to window 7 when its release, then i seen other sites were one can pre-order windows 7 as will at a very low price tag too

yeah you can i already love windows 7, they took vistas security issues and made them into performance issues that vista had, so they made windows 7 like vista and xp put together

I'll wait about 3-6 months before I'd consider getting it, I'd expect it to be as per like from the days of Windows 95 to Windows Vista, thousands DIVE in get VERY brassed of only to reinstall their previous OS.
I'm very happy with my OLD winXP

Have you tried the release candidate? It is supposed to be a lot like it, I have it on my home machine and it is faster than XP and more stable. Sucks for gaming though (mine is 64 bit).

Microsoft is offering the retail upgrade version for $30 or £30 for students with a valid school email address. If your in the USA you can also get Office 2007 Ultimate (Full retail) for $60

I do have Windows 7,(7000?) sent free by micro$oft, using it as a coaster for my coffee cup, I think it's trialware, why install an os as a trial, to much hassle,
indeed 64bit is a desire, but many guys I know have even more hassle running their old appz (win98 era) on there modern fast pc's, I have suffered with the latest photoshop and others, but at least I'm comfortable with my old photoshop 5.0, but I do know I'll have to upgrade once DFAF comes out and then win7 would have been out for a while
...all about priorities, game first then the os .....lol
First thing I do with any os is click it to classic view (win95 thats age for U)
