tft screen
I wan tto have a nice 19 inch tft screen, but i really dont know what to choose.
Have seen some nice screens: BenQ FP937s and BenQ FP937s+ iiyama ProLite E485S-B Philips 190S5FS i heard that i need to watch the reactiontime for gaming. Some are 20ms, 16ms, 12ms and even 8ms. But does it really mather if you got 8ms or 16ms... do you notice that? Also, i see the contrast. from 250:1 upto 800:1 Can anyone help me a bit? |

I have a LG L1710B 17" TFT DVI Monitor.
You won't believe the difference in sharpness compared to a CRT display. As long as the response time is 20ms or less, you should not have any problems playing games. I suggest looking at monitor reviews on the internet and in PC magazines before deciding. Last edited by ~MOUSE~; 03-20-2005 at 06:43 PM. |

if you want 19" there is only 2 choices
Samsung SM913N 700:1 Contrast Ratio 8ms Response Time Hyundai ImageQuest L90D+ 700:1 Contrast Ratio 8ms Response Time these are the the best 2 you wont get any ghosting. we have the Hyundai one here, its slightly more expensive, but i believe they use the same panel anyway, so the same performance. if you intend on gaming with a tft these are the best option. 8ms rox unfortunately they will never be as good as the best CRT's. |

I'd go with NEC monitors...my brother in law works for them they make good monitors.
By the way: It's best to get a monitor with a good contrast ratio like 500:1 also make sure it can do at least 65htz or better on the refresh rate. Also make sure the dot pitch is less than .25 or around there. I have seen ones that are .23 that are lcd. You also may want to consider higher the max resolution...the better.

I was running a 21" LCD and I switched back to my CRT the color was much more crisp and the screen looked less blury. The refresh rate on LCD's sucks so they are not the best for gaming.
