show off your desktop! every day ;)
ok, because of 'public demand' i'll give you my background changer.
it's nothing special, so don't expect too much. below follows the readme (not as complicated as it looks ) Nev's background changer readme: this is a little proggie that can change your windows background whenever you start it please remember at all times that i made this for my own personal use, so there is no such thing as help files or whatever. i'm only writing this readme for you because i'm a nice guy to use it, read and follow this: (haven't tried it on other pcs, but should work) - it ONLY works with windows 2000 and XP - you need all the wallpapers in one directory (no matter where, just remember the path) - copy the files 'back.html' and 'backchange.exe into your c:\windows directory - if you want to run it every time your comp boots (recommended) you have to double-click on 'autorun.reg' and add it to the registry - use 'back.html' as your background picture (yes, the html) - now run backchange.exe (from the windows directory) it will ask you for the path to your pics. enter it and press the check button. you should get a message how many pics it found (will only accept .jpg and .jpeg pics) (- you will need VB6 runtime dll's ) ( you probably have them. if not an error msg will come up that tells you wich file is missing ) ( (something like msvbvm60.dll. just search for it, there are numerous places ) ( to download it. once you have it, put it into your c:\windows\system32 folder and you're set.) - now you can close it. whenever you run backchange.exe again, it will randomly select one of your wallpapers - if you want a new random desktop immediately, click somewhere in the desktop and press F5 - if you ever want to select a different path for your wallpapers, you have to delete the 'backchange.cfg' file in the same directory as the prog itself (c:\windows) that's all i think.... for those who are interested: all the program does is overwriting the file 'hintergrund.jpg' in the windows directory with one from the chosen path. the hintergrund.jpg is set as background in the html-file. this may seem weird at the first moment, but if you'd just select the picture itself as wallpaper, windows will cache it somewhere (couldn't find out where), so even if you overwrite or delete it, it will still show the same pic. |
