OK, i'm stumped
I have basically flipped Google upside down looking for this:
does my motherboard (FOXCONN M61PMV FAB 1.0) support 125w? If anybody can tell me, that would be absolutely terrific, because this is starting to piss me off :P Thanks

why the hell not? its a motherboard, the only thing you should be concerned with is does it take 20 or 24 pin.

yes, don't worry about the wattage, its the socket type you need to know. so only look at AM2+ and AM2 CPUs.

i am sadface. the website says the BIOS version 846F1P04 updates the socket to be compatible with AM3 processors. i have 846F1P05 and my processor is running at 803.7mhz. waaaaayyyy off of the 3.2ghz it should be running. could anybody please help with this?
also, i have no idea how to turn off cool n quiet, if somebody could tell me the exact steps to do so, that would also help.

Don't mean to sound harsh but if you don't know how to turn Cool N Quiet off, then you shouldn't be fiddling with the bios lol. Use google, you'll find answers quicker than anyone here can give them to you.

when you first turn on your computer it'll tell you one or two things:
1) push (this) button for boot sequence 2) push (this) button for setup/BIOS/configurations those buttons are usually F-keys or those 6 keys above the arrows |

i would suggest backing up your computer before you do the bios update and making a disk with the original bios on it
if you dont do that and end up screwing something up at least you have that to back up on lets just say i know from experience lol

I have searched around and even went to another website and made a topic like this where a guy said i have to take out and put back in the processor because my problem is very similar to what he had and thats what he did.
BUT, i looked at a list of compatible processors with my mobo and it said the AMD Phenom x4 955 BE Deneb 95W i have the 125W, and guess what? you said: which could be my problem :/

believe me, wattage isn't a problem trust me on that.
What could be the problem is the FSB. check the supported FSB speeds of that motherboard, and the FSB speeds your CPU can do. |

Ok, redrum I'm sorry i take that back. Never in my life have I ever come across a motherboard that had wattage limitations. I just checked the newegg link and it said "designed for CPUs with a wattage of 95w or lower" you have yourself a cheapass motherboard

i figured. but i emailed AMD Phenom asking for a trade-in of the 125W with the 95W version of the cpu. i know there is one, it said at the bottom of the compatibility list:
http://www.foxconnsupport.com/cpusup...61PMV&cputype= at the bottom youll see it. well...second from the bottom. i just need to find it tho.
