Medal Of Honor Could be Banned in the UK.
Defence Secretary Liam Fox has urged shops to ban a computer game where players can act as the Taliban and kill British troops.
Dr Fox said he was "disgusted" that Medal of Honor allowed people to recreate attacks on Nato forces. An updated version of the popular game, due to be released in October, is based on the struggle between allied special forces and the Taliban - with players being allowed to choose which side they want to represent. A clip on the YouTube website shows a Taliban soldier fighting in southern Helmand province, where UK forces are based. Gamers are apparently instructed to stop the coalition "at all costs", and receive points for every allied troop they kill. Dr Fox said: "It's shocking that someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban. At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands. "I am disgusted and angry. It's hard to believe any citizen of our country would wish to buy such a thoroughly un-British game. I would urge retailers to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product." A spokeswoman for the game's developer, Electronic Arts, told the Sunday Times: "The format of the new Medal of Honor game merely reflects the fact that every conflict has two sides. "We give gamers the opportunity to play both sides. Most of us have been doing this since we were seven: someone plays the cop, someone must be robber. "In Medal of Honor multiplayer, someone's got to be the Taliban."

Oh for god sake.. It's not like people are going to start supporting the Taliban because of this game. If anything, I wish they would make people play it. They need to realise that fathers are being lost from both sides, it doesn't matter who thinks they are right or wrong, people are dying on both sides.
Things like this really piss me off. What right do they have to control what we do. Here lies the basics of censorship. |

hmm...i wonder if ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: OA are banned in the UK too, there are mods for british forces + a new expansion pack with british forces coming out, and you can be the insurgents/taliban/whatever you wanna call them. probably a lot worse than MOH
