But more likely it's a power supply issue or heat issue.

take a hard look at your power supply see is there is a lot of dust in there. dust hold heat in..ether blow it out or buy a new one.
what was you doing when this happen? some times if there auto-restart is enable you need to disable it. some programs don't act right it will restart the system. power supply turn off it will stay off for some time before you can start it back up. 2-3min. power supply unpower is like your system is eating up 350w and it need more then that? power supply can't give it will cut the system off totally for no reason. it will not restart if you need to buy a power supply pick the right one you need for your mother broad. good power if you need to buy new like get a 450w or 500w one more is better less chance it cutoff on you do to lack of power supply they can range for 25.00-130.00 it count what you like to buy! some time cheaper is not better

It's likely to be a power supply issue, that's all!

For some reason my laptop has started acting up too. I think it's the darn heat.

hate it when PC start shuting down on their own, i have to fix this stuff week in week out :/
essentially it can be any of your components doing it, even had one the other week that the cpu was causing it! (last part to be replaced). it#s definately worth making a note of when it happens? just to try and rule out a software issues. i.e. does it do it at the same time every time? if it shutsdown, switich it back on and go into the BIOS, and check the temp of the cpu. it should be below 50 degrees celcius, but really should work a lot higher than that but can cause problems. have any spart parts around? having a spare power supply around is very helpful just quickly open your PC and reseat all the cables and cards. sometimes somethign as simple as that can resolve intermittent issues. |

How about 45 Deg C for an Intel Pd 3.2 @ 3.56 Ghz after 3 hours of playing bf2???? i think it is reasonable
Some times check the cpu fan it could be acting up (turning on and off ) |
