My Modem

My Modem

Guys I have a Modem Blaster 28.8k modem and every time I have a couple of seconds or minutes surfing the web the connection icon by the taskbar that tells the time goes green. I have to open up a new window to not make it go to sleep and opening the window takes half a minute.

stop it going into sleep-mod you go into Start> control panel>display>click-on screensaver tab> Monitor power> click-on> power

up top you see

Power l Advanced l Hibernate l UPS

Click-on> Power schemes change it to another option you like to to work as.

now below you see many other option to have it work as and you can disable these option too.

i disable all in this area and uncheck all in [Advanced] and disable all in [Hibernate] it better to turn it off. i don't care to have it running it may do thing i may not like it to do, like auto dailup a toll number say some porn number or something other when i not there to watch over it.

keep in mind when you leave the monitor you have to turn it off, so not let it burnout with the same image on hours on end.

i don't have any screen saver (disable) on at all, if i watch a DVD or play a game it would butt into it, some times make error in game time.

you may lookup and buy a 56k modem, it would be a lot better then a 28k modem. pages would load up faster but not much better. and the setting may need tobe change to in the settings, this you can get from your internet service tech-support they can help you set it to run better and not get kickoff as badly.

Sorry Misunderstood

Sorry Misunderstood

I mean it goes to sleep and have to open up a new window to de-sleep it. De-sleep it.
Erik please without the insults and stuff. I feel already that these modems last more longer and have no drivers. When I mean modem I not mean those ones integrated in your motheboard but the ones outside your computer where you turn on.

Erik please without the insults and stuff because like in a previous thread about something someone said to lay of the such and such. I feel already that these modems last more longer and have no drivers. When I mean modem I not mean those ones integrated in your motheboard but the ones outside your computer where you turn on. It is not IE. Not IE but it maybe is the modem.

will i think you should go out and buy a 56k modem a update date stander one if you going to use a dail-up connection. 28k is not really any good at all.

buy one that you add to the mother broad and not a outside one that use USB ports.

they are cheap to buy at a story, you can buy them online too.

here one: under USD-15.00

all you have to do is look around for a good one you can get.
you really can't play any games on a 28k modem at lease 56k modem be a bit better.

i like to reply to this;

so maybe you can know why not all have high speed connection in their area, it cost money and not all are so luck to have the high speed service in thier area.

not all people can have it at all in some places, they may not even have high speed hookup at all, still new to some area.

so please try to be understanding ok.

they may have only the telephone line to use to connect to the internet.

for ADSL (DSL) they have to adapt the lines for this service in most out line areas don't have it at all. same for cable service to they have to have cable service to even use road runner and some cable companys don't even give the service at all.

Not all are so luck to have high speed service's in their area at all. yea it 2005 and not have it as a option to use.
