those weapons that didn't have pistol grips; I had a dream about them, I just shot a couple people with them and dream over.

no actually it gives it more acceleration time to allow the gases to accelerate it to its full potential speed before leaving the barrel. what I've always heard anyhow. I'm no expert tho.

For long range targets you have a large scope and long barrel.
For medium range targets you can just lob a grenade at them.
For CQB you grab the weapon by the barrel and beat your enemy to death with it.

Sorted.
no actually for CQB you slap a bayonet on the end of the barrel. now you have a spear

That depends on the propellant being used. At a point there is a balance that has to be met so that the propellant doesn't fall short of the friction caused.

yeah, that's what I was thinking. at some point the gas would lose it's pressure allowing friction to slow the bullet.

Ever see a curve of the expansion of a gas? really depends on the propellant, but it more or less resembles a curve like that of x^4.

Ideally, you'd want the barrel long enough so that you can accelerate the bullet up to its maximum but short enough to cycle the gas system, easy to handle, etc.

BTW, accuracy of the weapon is not dependent on the barrel length, but rather how good it's bored and how good the tip of the barrel is in regards to not making turbulance as the bullet passes through it.

some great pics, too, lmao.

in some ways it may affect the accuracy becuase it is traveling at a higher velocity. not sure......

Velocity is a catch 22...the faster something is going the less time it has for error...however the greater an error will become.

My son pulled my system off the entertainment shelf. I haven't had the extra money/time to get a replacement. Will do in a month or so when my taxes come back though you can bet on that.
