the cpu was $269.99,mobo $249.99 and the video card $289.99
$7.95 and $8.95 for shipping and yea..... NO Tax

do your research @ newegg and tiger direct and compair prices
at places like nextag /pricegrabber etc there are a half dozen or more places like that
new egg has mfg specs and links to mfg product page decide what you want then
how much cash you have to spend and for that price range see which has the best specs memory and processor gpu speed and mem speed etc and some times free shipping
good luck...

p.s. streaming processors is a major factor ...the more the better
that also means that if you have $100 and you buy a 1 gb card with 32 streaming processors and free shipping
and for the same money plus $9 for shipping and 1gb and 192 streaming proccessors you have pulled a Homer Simpson...Doh
streaming proccessors reflect the video processing power of the card its the most imprtant spec..

Toms Hardware

For gaming the two CPUs are pretty even, video editing and adobe show minor differences. Up to you if the differences are worth the extra cost. You can always OC the 2500k to make up the small difference between the two (then again you can OC the 2600k also)

The sandy bridge processors are shockingly fast.
I replaced a i7-920 @3.3 with a sandy 2600K at stock, and my cpu utilization while gaming is demonstrably lower.
I may OC because that is why I got the K, but I really have no need to.

Take the savings and spend it on a SSD for the OS and apps.
