My car is equipped with a limited slip differential so it does have a differential but it's not really one you'd find in most cars. I was thinking he was talking about all wheel drive vehicles which is where I've heard of people having problems with the differentials.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_slip_differential

BHP is horsepower measured at the engine's flywheel.. WHP is at the wheels and is what you'd get at a dyno. Most of the time when you see a car's HP advertised it's BHP. The actual HP that the wheels is generally about 15% lower than that number due to drive train loss.

My car's BHP would be around 415bhp, but the whp is 350.

What i'm trying to say is when you get up there in horsepower .. you have to start looking at changing a lot of stuff.

stock transmissions, axles and differentials are only rated for so much power to them. when you start putting big ass turbos and boring out the engine and all the other crazy **** you've done you'll exceed that and one day end up destroying them when you decide to floor it (assuming all that stuff is stock) trust me i've seen it happen.

i dont know much about the linkages in a front wheel car but i know it has some sort of differential. this is the most common part changed or at least rebuilt when a lot of horsepower is added to the engine.

Well mod season begins tomorrow and I will be upgrading my transmission in preparation for my power mods this season.. I'm going to replace my worn and abused (to many WOT shifts) transmission gears so she shifts smoothly again when I put the new turbo on. That along with a clutch will go on later on this spring... So excited to finally have my ~350whp daily driver finished!

Some pics:
