Your Opinion

If you are:

a. lazy
b. need a site to display for people to see your work

(this is my work site, i'm looking to do custom coding and website development/administration projects)

should I just keep wordpress and do a few things to it, or should I take the time to make a site? and if i do make a site how intesnse should it be?

like fully php/mysql/xhtml/css
or php/mysql/html
or xhtml/css?

pretty much, should i spend time on my personal work site, or work on starting to get clientelle? They both have advantages...

i think if the site is for a website/coding prtfolio then a custom built site is what you should be building.

it's nt always the case, but depending on who your clients are, (or potential clients) they might know that wordress is a download and that you havent built it yourself... then they will make some conclusions from that.

wordpress is great for somethings, but i feel it is not really suitable for what you need.

i think you should make a CSS site with good coding. at the very least you will learn a whole load of stuff that will be relevant to your work.

i don't know what coding etc you know, so i dont mean to be patronising in any way

check out these CSS designs: http://forum.programming-designs.com...c.php?pid=4324

i really think you cannot beat clean, tidy CSS websites, especially for your proposed site.

i agree. the biggest thing for me is, (the debate) i can't do graphics design. i'm also kinda sketchy on css, i used to be rather good, so this is probably for the better. i'm gonna build my website from scratch so that way i'll look more professional

Join the club. I'm graphically challenged too and I'm proud of it. My current site (www.n-i.us) is 95% CSS, 4% php, and 1% some JS. Working slowly to add MySql and other functionalities as time permits.
