Online multiplayer blackout

I have installed Delta Force 1 and updated it, but when i attempt to play a hosted game then the novalogic window comes up, i click a server/game and the screen just stays black.

i really dono how to fix this and would appreciate it if anyone could help

9 times out of 10 it's a firewall problem.

Unckeck windows firewall and disable any software firewalls you may have and don't forget the one in the router.

The ports to open are 3568 and 3569

ive almost dumbned myself, i forgot all about firewalls etc

i'll try this when i get home
but can you help out with one more thing
i have a firewall built into my router as well, but how do i like switch it off or whatever?
and how do i open ports?

Not really an expert, but you should have an ip to get go to your router admin page, could be 192.0.0.1, or something like that.

In there you should find a 'port forwarding' page that will allow you to alocate ports for various games.
The ports for df 1 are above.

I use a router but am not certain about the way to do that so I put my whole machine in DMZ, which turns off the firewall completly, but dont forget to turn it back on after playing !!!!

If in Doubt, post up your router specs and I'm sure that the computer boffs here can talk you through the setup.

I am having the same problem. I have disabled both Firewalls , with no luck. I do not have a router tho, so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem . Single player mode works ok...

I don't have any problems with df2 or dftfd....

It would be cool to play this game again at long last, so any help is mucho appreciated,

I just found the option to 'list threads since the beginning', and read em all ...

No luck still.

I have the latest update (from dfbarracks), and am running the game 'compatible for 98'. I am running Sygate firewall, along with Windows firewall, but I exit both and then try DF, still to no avail.

I do not have a router, as far as I know, I am on a ADSL connection, with a DSL-302G Generation D-Link modem.

I've seen references in the posts' here about 'dmz' and ports, but am not sure how to 'open the ports' so to speak...
