ok ive been trying to figure out why my DFLW wont connect to any servers, ive even did a update of win XP turned off firewall anti virus ,etc.
but it turns out that i cant get any of my novalogic games to connect to any servers, cant get past the joiningsession status screen, it just hangs the games.

i reinstalled them, ive updated them, but i cant figure out what the bleep is going on.

i can play them without any problems in single player but if i try to connect to a server the game hangs up.

what type of internet connection you have?

is there a routor in inline?

some times there a software firewall and there is hardware fire wall (router) if your set to stealth mod or anti-port scan is enable ports be blocked.

sorry i don't know the ins and out of dsl or cable setting to get them enable.

i got a 56k dialup connection using dialup networking that came with the operating system.
i turned off all firewall and antivirus programs but still couldnt get it to join a server.
the modem i got is a USR 56k win fax modem, same modem i had on my old system.

im lost i have done everything i could think of but still cant get it to connect, itll joing novaworld just fine and will start to connect to the server i click but it will hang at the joining session screen.

Try joining a server in another game other than DF.

It must be your computer. Try reinstalling your modem or something.

are you using windows xp firewall?
if so get another firewall. think windows firewall will always block it even if it turnoff.

Open up your Windows Firewall via Security Centre via Control Panel. See if there's any exceptions for any DF games...

yup it got DFLW, DF2, DFTFD, DFBHD, are all set as exceptions.

ill move the modem to another slot and see what happens.

nope still no go.

still hangs the game and says that the program isnt responding in the windows task manager.
