Question regarding HDDs

Okay, that Hells Bound fella, was talking to me on Messenger, and he was saying his HDD doesn't work properly sometimes because when he got the hard drive the sticker was removed or whatever...

Is this true whatsoever? All it seems like is a big sticker and some other thing for the HDD... Something that's on the outside of the HDD that was removed shouldn't be umm... affecting the HDD's performance.

Yes, he could be lying. He may even have ADHD as far as I'm concerned. Listen, I just wanna see if this is true or not - so please don't spark out anything regarding Hells Bound lying. Thanks guys.

I don't believe that matters - Doing a quick google search for the wd740 drives reveals other pictures of drives that look exactly how that looks - ie no picture there.

Hard drives are sealed - I think the worst removing a sticker would do is void any warranty
