I would just bypass the ping if you can play the maps without a problem , i had asked the same thing (it was taking up to 1 1/2 minutes for the "calculating ping times" to get past 0) ,and im on 512k cable, i was told by someone ,i think on this site ,to bypass it ,and i get in the games just fine now, to do this : go and log on ,after the page finally loads ,then go to the Server page, below the list of game rooms (lower right)it says "Configure" click on that and under PING click OFF ,the next time you log in ,after you sign in it will go straight to the Sever page, this is as long as when you had played before that the in game PINGS at the top left were not real high (high being, 500 +),you will still be able to see your ping times at the top (mine bounce between 120 and 250 ),while playing ,it just doesnt show up on the server list's and doesnt try to check them while your trying to access the server page,,if your Pings were high before (while in the games)than you are having some kind of issue with your connection,,but if you only have problems with BHD and all your other games or internet stuff load fine, than this should fix your problem...

Oh! and the Ping calculates the time it takes for your connection to go from your computer ,to your provider ,and any other servers it has to go thru ,then get to the Nova servers, and then back, but you will find that the calculations are not very accurate, but what your looking for is ,no higher than 500 ,depending on your connection (say cable) you should average 100+ but flashes up to 400 are ok as long as they last just a second or two ,if they last longer you will find yourself getting punted alot , if you check with your ISP they should be able to check your connection and let you know weather there is a problem or not !

I was told that if you skip the pings, you can't play official Nova servers. Is that true?
