Novahq.net Alternate Lobby 2025 Update

The alternative lobby from NOVAHQ.NET has been updated, and now you can enjoy some improvements.

Note: This update does not include DF: Xtreme and Joint Operations.

Some games will now show all the servers that are actually in the official NovaWorld lobby. DFLW, TFD, and BHD servers that were behind a NAT router are now accessible—those servers that previously could only be joined through the official NovaWorld lobby by registered users can now be accessed.

There have also been graphical improvements and faster loading times.

If you already have the startup.html file and/or a fully patched game from NovaHQ.net, you don’t need to download anything to use these updates. If you're just getting started, download the second group of files below to fully patch your game. Patches for Armored Fist 3 / Tachyon: The Fringe / F-22 Lightning 3 / MiG-29 Fulcrum, F-22 Raptor & F-16 Multirole Fighter are coming soon!

An updated HeartbeatDll for the additional games is in the works! If you run a DF1/DF2/LW/TFD/BHD server download the current server HeartbeatDll here. The HeartbeatDll is the preferred way to report to the lobby system if you're not using a NovaHQ host tool. This will ensure you game always shows in the lobby and displays expanded information.

Question why we don't see the servers using HB anymore on this new version?

Not sure what you mean. The majority of servers are reporting with the heartbeat / host tool.

Some buddies and I noticed that it takes it a while for new lobbies to appear on the new lobby page. If we login directly to novaworld and view pub games that way the lobby is there. It does eventually show up on the new lobby page after about 10-15 minutes. Is this the issue?

For server hosts yes, if server hosts don't run the heartbeat it could take a while for it to show in the lobby. The lobby has a bot that runs on a schedule that scrapes official novaworld lobbies for additional games. Games that don't run the heartbeat would only be added when the bot runs. I may increase the frequency of the bot but ideally server hosts would just run the heartbeat so I don't have to make so many requests to novaworld.
