i got a Geforce4 MX 4000 64mb PCI fer an older hp pavilion running winXP yesterday and it works good deltaforce, need for speed hot persuits 2 and some other games, but when i try and play ratbag stadium of offroad racing it just wont work.
the screen just laggs out even on 640x480-16bit resolution, the onboard card was an intell graphics 64mb but it needed T&L fer it to be compatable with another game i had.
i put the card in my frankenstien pc that is running at 3.20ghz and 1+gb ddr and it worked great didnt lagg,glitch or anything, but i put it into the HP pavilion it just doesnt work too good.
it has updated drivers and the works but it just doesnt run smoothly on the hp pavilion.
the HP has over 250mb of ram and is running at 900mhz witch is 100mhz more than required and the memory is also more than the required even the OS is the required but it still acts funny.
is the PCI slots like 2 slow or something? or am i running out of resources? memory, cpu power,etc
could some1 please help me ?

did you un-instill the first gfx drivers before instill and add-in the Geforce4 MX 4000 64mb PCI. on the mother broad the Graghic drivers are still there, when ever you add a PCI Graghic card you need to remove the graghic drivers first or it will not work very good.

been there my aunt Computer she had everything pug-in to her mother broad, we got a Geforce4 440mx pci card had same trouble i was told remove the other graghic mother broad drivers and have monitor plug into the graghic card then instill the drivers for it.

check for new drivers for that card too. they had many new one made by now for windows xp
