Found this interesting, there starting to have conferences about advertising in games, i wonder if soon well see "This level is bought to you by Coke" or a Df character able to get a coke from a vending machine in the middle of the desert in a mission??

I think it is BS if they do that. Unless they drop the game prices.

I mean we are PAYING for the game. We should not have to pay and then watch freaking ads.

There already is advertising in games.
Best Played on Alienware
NVidea, the Way its Meant to be Played etc etc.

You can't get away from it and the fact is that men aged 18 to 40 play more games than they watch TV nowadays so advertisers are scrambling to preserve their industry by joining this phenomanon.
I don't give a monkeys if they put a picture of a bottle of coke on a loading screen. I will be livid if they start interrupting the game unneccessarily with multi-media ads though. But simpply, I will avoid games publishers that do this and go with those that don't.

It's no problem.

I don't mind if when I'm taking over an enemy encampment and mercilessly killing everyone in the camp that I might come upon some bad guys eating some McDonalds, just so long as the game is cheaper. It's disgusting what the game company would make from that, yet they'd still charge us $40-$50 for the game.

Yeah, that is where I have a problem with it.

The gaming industry is one of the wealthiest in US. They make billions.

Well if it is THAT kind of advertising most people don't notice it. What I mean is it would be stupid to make someone watch an ad before they play each level. I know they already do the intro ads but if they start doing that so you have to watch it every time you play a level...grr. I will stop buying computer games.
