Far Cry is the first of the next generation of games.
It needs playing (if your PC can handle it) because it is of historical importance to the culture we employ.

It is however a pap game.
Doom3 will show us all how graphics like this should enhance the mood of a game to intense levels, HL2 will show us how it will enhance gaming experience.
Quake4 will apply it to the internet and then in 15 years nova will catch up but during all that time the game play that makes Nova games great will be and will always remain, king.

As ZZA says Far Cry is the future for all games and eventually all games will be like it. The follow up game Far Cry 2 is due for release some time soon so we shall have to see if the story line is a bit more realistic.

Far Cry 2?! Cool, definatly getting that. What i like about far cry is the graphics and game play 1 thing is notice how much armor u have its like halo! But JO would be gr8 if it was built on the farcry engine but with more realistic dying not 3 mags to kill thing.

Don't know about J.O. bro as I took the game back as I thought it was very poor but Far Cry 2 will be good if and I stress if, the game makers get rid of the bloody silly monsters and stick with terrorists!

Ye like if u want to fight monsters, why dont we just buy resident evil? i bought far cry to shoot ppl (not mutaleted monsters lol) but anyway brilliant game. IMO Joint Ops graphics are pretty sweet and realistic but i think far cry looks more animated.

lol, like on the last SP mission the Volcano... unreal these things with 12inch rocks as their arms?! and it takes about 7 rockets to kill them?! Still a fun game What really gets me is ur sitting killing the monsters and the enemy (the people) who in a way ur saving then turn on u? How disrespectful is that?

And the blood in far cry is really realistic, Like Jo u shoot some1 its like this much blood ----> . on Far cry theres bullet holes and blood everywhere. (not that im a big fan of violence) but it makes the game better
