OR you can host it your self like i am... no ads unlimited everything.. ahh its the life... its easy and its fun to learn... all you really need is DSL or cable or any other fast internet and a PC.. i wont bother explaining the rest in less y'all want to know how to do it your self....

not fast enuff for me...actually way to slow. To lil bandwidth, and because it will hog the internet gaming will slow it down, or it will hog the internet and slow the gaming down. I'd buy hosting. If you have an extra computer and an extra dsl line it may be good, but still speed is an issue, but if that's not important then it works out

Because of my bandwidth I don't host big files but as far as I know I'm not having any problems with running both a website and game server (website loads pretty fast for me, and I don't hear any complaints about lag in the server). IcI |

That it loads fast for you doesn't mean much as you're getting the information from your own computer and i presume that you're connected to you're webserver computer through a LAN connection which increase the speed so much thats its impossible to get a real readout. If http://commandoselite.com/ is the site, it takes quite a while to load the site.

You got a point there...
Though you are the first to say it loads slow I would have a had a faster connection but my parents got them selves locked into a one year commitment before I could convice them to switch ISP's. Oh well... I still like hosting my website my self, just would like the faster connection IcI |

Yes if i did have a 100 mbit fiber i would do it in an instanse, but its just too pricy for my taste.
Its not really slow, but it is slow for my taste, secondly im located across the pond |

I'm not saying it's bad, it's bad if you plan on having a website with lots of traffic...

yep, your right elite.
Unfortunitly, that isn't an issue right now... have a hard time just getting squad members on the site and if i ever do get to much traffic, then I'll have to look into getting it professionally hosted. But aside from all of the bandwidth issues, it has been a great learning tool. Because of running my own server I am learning linux. I have set up a webserver, ftp server, email server, ssh server, mysql server, etc. stuff that can potentially help me down the road Back to bandwidth, any one have > $100,000 a month they can spare? I would like to get a 655mbs internet connection (for get the offical name of it). lol, jk IcI |

You won't need that much bandwith anyways, unless you're going to start a big hosting company
