cant respond to threads in this forum?

I can't respond to a post in this forum?

permissions say so down in the bottom left corner, but when I click replay I get an access denied error...

If that is be design then consider this a comment against it

I have an answer to the post "Idea for a map screenshot device!" but if I can't respond, then how do I give the answer with out starting a thread in a different forum?

only admin / staff and the original thread creator can reply.

generally posts in here should be a direct question to us. the permissions were set like this to stop spam and straying off topic.

chances are that if other ppl need/want/can provide the answer than the thread is in the wrong section.
