i want to host df1

does anyone know the secret to hosting old df1 these days? also, wasnt the last update for df1 ver.1.00.03.03p?
revision 5 update on novahq is ver.1.00.00.09
stilll a few playing and i can join a couple servers but when my mates and i try and get a server going it is hit or miss.

my ports are open with default ones and firewall has exceptions, im at a loss.
it wasnt this confusing back in the day. simply host on 56k modem and 8 in a game! now i have cable conection and was curious how df1 played with the conections of today. and help to clarify df1 present day is thanked in advance.

by the way, i have asked about hosting in the servers that do run and none know english. i have the old df1 pinger as welll if that helps anyone help me out. thanks
