DFLWMED not working.

It crashes as soon as I start it. The game works fine.

Looks like you have a fairly clean (new) Windows 7 there so if XP compatibility doesn't work, you may need to install an old directx version.

Make a shortcut to the Game or Program on your desktop.

Right click the shortcut and a menu will appear.

Select properties then compatibility.

You will see all the settings there.

An educated guess?

Probably a recent update.

I've mentioned in other threads that recent updates to Windows 7 appear to have had adverse effects and some of the bugs are similar to the current issues in Windows 10.

Just got a report in from Swifty Helen

All Mission Editors are OK if Windows 7 is locked down before any 2017 updates.

The system must be secured with Anti-Virus Software and a 2-Way Firewall.

Wait!

This doesn't mean you should do anything advised here because it might not be your problem and rolling back may cause other problems.

If you go ahead with it navigate to control panel - windows update where you can view and uninstall windows updates.

I can't really advise you any further than that except to backup everything to an external drive.

As for the process itself I'd do it bit by bit and roll back until the bug is gone.
