Can't host.

Well I'm having problems hosting a server in any game. JO, BF2, COD4....etc

I'm using a Netgear WNA3100 (seen below) which connects to my verizon wireless 3G connection...

Makes no since, I can host via LAN just fine, but when I host on the internet, my server does not show up for my friend Joe when he searches my server...

been fighting with it for 2 days, so now I'm just plain frustrated...

Thanks for any help!

Demilitarized zone. Means you open all ports in and out. Not recomended for a long period of time but can be usefull for trubbleshooting

With DMZ, the router opens all ports in and out on one selected computer (at least my router does have that option).

If you've got a good software firewall you should be ok. Just make sure the software firewall monitors the incoming and outgoing traffic.

Is it that the connected computers are not all in the same workgroup?

no that's connected to the computer via USB, it connects wirelessly to the verizon modem. also, be clear guys that this is not a router, it's a modem.

Several computers using that to connect to the interent? The modem might be a combo, a modem and a router

finally got some time to get ahold of their tech support. they told me that their Ip's were not public and there's no way they could open them...

I couldn't even host my own website domain if I wanted to... this blows.

the thing is its wireless service, like a cellphone not made to be use for 7days a week

even if a laptop made in wireless or PC wireless modem G4/ G5 card or USB type connection is temporary use

cost be out of this world not to say.

dish internet is flaky and cable is not 100% but flaky too

guess DSL and T3 (T?? something) best solid hosting the game with.
============
PC/laptop connection to wireless modem (USB like or build right into it) to a routor (lan/wireless) to cable, DSL, T3 connection i think is better for long playing and hosting, mind you cable internet service is not super great ether

hip about G4 or G5 internet service is that hip they charge for date or file type downloaded! the charge be out of this world, they don't say it but that's the catcher.

What's G4/G5?

And yes you can have a website regarless, there are dynamic dns serivces that will solve the issue of not having a fixed IP

actually no guys it's 3G. I can't get 4G where I live. hell I barely get 3G. I looked on the coverage map for 3G and I'm like on the very edge of the coverage area.

And yeah, willy I know that cable or DSL is best for gaming but again, I don't have cable or DSL where I live...
