Important Advice For Modders

I am giving this advice to mappers who has gone about it the wrong way and IMO the following is probably the best way...if any one else would like to add please do as any new modders might benefit from reading this.

I'll kick off with this:

Make everything in modified PFFs

Set your installer (not totally needed) to create shortcut parameters which point to the default game folder with these switches-

"C:\Program Files\Novalogic\Delta Force Xtreme 2\dfx2.exe" /mydfusamod dfusa

This points to the newly installed folder mydfusamod and reads the pff file dfusa.

Use any free compiler for the installer and use ravens pff tools to create and pack the pff.

you may need 2 (pff files) if you enable editing of the mods ie

med.pff.

you can change menu screens and and game sounds if you wish.

This is a less risky install for users (also if your exe for your mod is too big it causes lagging on external drives and long read times anywhere)

Doing it this way it uses the DFX(2) exe to run which is (legal)

Mods have been done and redone ... and stolen Mods ... and reposted Mods' renamed as someone else work.

Buildings were added ... building were taken away ... new grass was added ... new weapons were added ... everyone had their own idea of what the best MOD was !!!

Download this MOD ... no, Download this MOD ... Boring !!!

They've all been one upped by NOVALOGICs' DFX2 MOD.

Nuff said.

Sorry, just fed up with MODs ...

You are right IMO Dave, I am saying here for the up and coming modders that there is a way to go if they follow the common rules.

Curiosity and creativity should not be mixed up with manipulation and...well, best not mentioned here.
