WayPoint Names

Does any one know how to get the way point names to display on the players map. If I set the NAV. way point name to say, Alpha it never shows up on the game map. Standard MED, weird

Any help or clues you can think of fire them my way,Thanks.

Thanks

Go to Waypoints > Blue Team Waypoint

I have the way points in the Waypoint list set to Blue Team Waypoint

I already have the Team set to good Blue. That's why I am puzzled because they should be showing up I can't figure why they are not. I can see the way points but not the ID Names.

When I worked with the earlier Med for DFLW I never had this problem.
I will try to test some simple way set ups it may just be a glitch in the Med.

Thanks for the help

If the problem's still there, start from scratch.

Just create a simple mission. Create ONE waypoint list, now to go "Edit" > "Waypoints", and on the waypoint, select "Blue Team Waypoint".

Oh, and wait, what game type is this? That might be the prob, maybe?

No Dice

it's a single player mission: I Played around with it for a wail but still cant get that to work. I tried a simple two way point set up on a fresh file no luck there. Ever thing else works great so I just completed it. I just could not get that to work it's not a major part of the mission so i think i will let this go, just weird.

Thanks for the help

Just to make sure you've tried this:

In the upper right hand corner of the attribute window for the waypoint there is a drop down menu with the names of waypoints.

Also make sure the "start player" marker is set to "blue team" as well as the waypoint list you want the player to follow.

Hmm, when I set "Blue Team Waypoint", that does it.

The player start marker is just a marker to set where you start - not the actual player so I doubt waypoints need to be set up for it.

Upload an .mis, maybe? So I can analyze it?

It's Getting Wierd

Ok so I completed the mission and then exported as COOP to see if everything was cool on that too.
and NOVA starts to update no biggie, well then I check out the way points to find they don't cycle now.
I can't get the way points to change you have to manually switch them to the next way point now, and it's
like that on single player too.

Even the game files that did work fine have stopped changing, only the original nova files seem to work.
Something is way wrong maybe a corrupted file in the game it's self. I may need to reinstall the game to fix this it seems like a bug.

I will try and post the .MIS file see what you think. (I have the names turned to null on this file)

I just tested it out and the waypoint showed up.

Have you updated your game? Have your DFX updated to the latest version.

Also, if you want the waypoint to change when you go to it, set "Advancement Event" in the waypoint attributes.

For example, let's say in the MED, you have "WAYPOINT 1", and "WAYPOINT 2". If you want "WAYPOINT 1" to switch to "WAYPOINT 2" when you go to it, make an event:

If SSN(10,000) enters AREA 1,
THEN Win Subgoal 1

In the "Advancement Event" thing for "WAYPOINT 1", select that event via there.

Now, then the player is in that area, the first waypoint switches to the second.

Thanks again

I was hoping it was just a glitch in my system, I will try reinstalling a fresh copy of DFX. I have noticed some more weird things after the update also, it must be the game it's self.

I have not used the MED to make any maps for a long time, just started playing around with it again. First map I have made since 2004, DFLW days. So if you play it would you please leave me some feed back.

Thanks for the help I was totally stumped, and I will go head and use the trigger forward you suggested.

And when you uninstall, delete the whole game folder (backup maps and saves if you want).
