Hosting
Ok, before anyone gets on my case, I searched through all the hosting topics and most of the sites were closed down, crappy, ect. Im opening a new site for WAR, new MMO game coming out. Im looking for a good host that has a lot of uptime and that you have used your self lol I hate trying new hosts out first. So far i have looked at http://www.hostrocket.com , 1&1 godaddy.com, http://www.hostgator.com, xtremedatasoultions so is their any others you can suggest?

I've www.siteground.com for the last two years. Linux based but solid as a rock. Haven't had any issues with them. $60 for year from what I remember. Check them out. I recommend them.

I would agree with Capers
I use www.jaguarpc.com great service for price. Usually an answer and fix within 5 - 10 min around the clock. Good uptime |

I just found something that you may want to keep an eye out for:
A price lock gaurentee (sp?). Elixarweb.com just upped their prices, and they are uping my monthly fee also. At least 2 webhosts offer price locking - As long as you stay with the company, your price won't change... Hostgater.com and knownhost.com for sure have it, haven't checked any of the others yet. Elixarweb.com still has been great, wouldn't drop them from the list - but I can't say I like the idea of having to pay more when they want to up their prices when there are other hosts who don't do that to their current customers IcI Last edited by IcIshoot; 08-29-2007 at 03:21 PM. |

The issue is if you need a lot of support or always are asking questions to whomever might be hosting you, you may not want to go with them. Their support is great, but they have a certain amount of tickets you can start. I never used one, but just a caution. Elixarweb seems pretty solid, I'd look into them over the other plans...but couldn't say from experience. Siteground or elixarweb...chose from those. |
